“Moviestar” - Remy Bond

After listening to Remy Bond’s latest single, “Moviestar,” for the first time, I had to immediately go to my ABBA archives to search for which ABBA song it reminds me of most. After an exhaustive search, it turns out that “Moviestar” is simply a brilliant homage to ABBA with just enough familiarity to multiple songs of theirs to not be an interpolation or cover or unintentional rip. The closest ABBA song is “The Winner Takes It All,” but only in spots.

All that said, I grew up with ABBA and love them immensely so it’s wonderful to hear such a lovely homage to them by Bond.
