“Nothin Worth Winnin” - Billy Nomates

New LP Metalhorse by English act Billy Nomates (stage name of singer-songwriter, Tor Maries) came out on May 16th via Invade Records UK, and it includes 11 hard-to-categorize pop nuggets. Her sound is like if Alison Goldfrapp, Neko Case, and Emily Haines had a musical love child. My favourite song on the album is Track #2, “Nothin Worth Winnin.” It’s got an indie electronic production coupled with an almost detached indie folk vocal— and the combination is delectable.
