“Devon Sawa” - Slow Reader

Hamilton, Ontario-based Slow Readers’ debut LP, Soft Eviction, came out May 16, 2025, and it’s full of jams! Their sound reminds me of early Blondie mixed with The Go-Go’s, but with a fuzzy gauze enveloping it all. It’s an endearing sound, and lead singer Tori Tizzard has such an inviting timbre to her voice— equal parts cute and sassy. Check out “Devon Sawa,” then venture on to “Apartment Song,” and beyond!
