“Link” - Djo
I love that actor/musician Joe Keery— performing under the moniker Djo— is doing this whole music thing all DIY-style. He found an indie producer he liked (Adam Thein) and collaborated to make one hell of a no-skip LP, The Crux, that gives nods to all sorts of bands and sounds from the past. One of my favourite tracks on the record is track 3, “Link.” On it, he’s channeling Ric Ocasek and The Cars like nobody’s business.
After your listen to “Link,” go check out “Charlie’s Garden” and “Back On You.” Those three along with the breakout hit, “Basic Being Basic,” are the clear standouts on The Crux.
