“Wide Awake” - A Thousand Mad Things
Talk about a flashback! William Barradale’s debut single as A Thousand Mad Things, “Wide Awake," (via Nettwerk) is late-’80s synthpop, dark wave/ cold wave, top-to-bottom. There were tons of these types of bands from 1987-1989 that attracted the original goth crowds to clubs. “Wide Awake” would fit quite effortlessly on those dance floors full of blue-black dyed hair, heavy black eyeliner, black trench coats, and black combat boots.
